Boulders

You use my words to break your bird-bones
And I have to be happy
Because it means you actually listen
When I babble when I mumble rumble
You hear them
I watch them crash through your mind in a landslide of pain
I don’t mean for my words to make you sad
I don’t mean them at all
But they fall from my mouth like the foulest lava
Burning my rope bridges
That only bird-boned people can soar above
Unscathed
Arms outstretched like martyrs
Unafraid to fall into my barreling gravity
Into my spiraling decay
Fearless Spartans until I speak boulder words
That crush them in their flight
You escaped early, my friend.
